DFSI protects and promotes the rights of all persons served. This commitment guides the delivery of services in a compassionate manner and respects the dignity of the persons served.
- Persons served have the right to be treated with courtesy and dignity, and are entitled to respect for their individuality.
- Persons served have the right to privacy and confidentiality of information.
- Persons served have the right to receive an Independent Medical Evaluation without discrimination.
- Persons served have the right to receive pertinent information about their Independent Medical Evaluation including the process and its purpose, in sufficient time to make decisions.
- Persons served have the right to informed consent and the right to terminate an evaluation.
- Persons served have the right to receive an Independent Medical Evaluation in a safe and comfortable environment with freedom from abuse, financial or other exploitation, retaliation, humiliation, and neglect.
- Persons served have the right to receive Independent Medical Evaluation services conducted in a manner that upholds professional and ethical standards of practice.
- Persons served have the right to pursue access to their records, a process for formal complaints, including investigation and resolution.
